For our 2019 Keynote we are proud to welcome Amanda Coolidge.
Amanda Coolidge is the Senior Manager of Open Education at BCcampus. She leads the BC Open Textbook Project as well as the Open Education initiatives in the province of British Columbia, Canada. The BCcampus Open Education team produces Open Educational Resources (OER) – textbooks, toolkits, and other learning materials – in collaboration with the B.C. post-secondary system. The team also develops and delivers workshops to increase awareness, adoption, and adaptation of OER by instructors throughout the province and around the world. Amanda has as a background in Educational Technology and Instructional Design. Prior to working in the British Columbia Post-Secondary Sector, Amanda was the Senior Educational Technologist on the TESSA (Teacher Education in Sub Saharan Africa) project, based in Nairobi, Kenya. TESSA is a bank of open educational resources (OER), linked to the school curriculum, and designed to support teachers and teacher educators in developing active approaches to learning. Amanda’s professional interests include open educational practices, open pedagogy, open policy, and best practices in universal design . In her personal time you can find her roaming Vancouver Island with her family in their RV (you can follow their adventures on Instagram (rvfamilyvancouverisland) and she can frequently be spotted at a Jazzercise class.
